PIFF LA 2016
Los Angeles, CA (September 7, 2016) – Panama International Film Festival in Los Angeles, a project of Viva Panama Organization (nonprofit entity) officially presented by Union Bank, Panama Film Commission (DICI) and the Ministry of Commerce & Industries of Panama (MICI), in association with New Filmmakers Los Angeles (NFMLA) & National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP), announced its official program selections for its 2nd edition of this festival. PIFF/LA is an annual celebration cast a spotlight on the emerging film industry in Panama. PIFF features works by up and coming filmmakers from the area as well as visual arts, musical and dance exhibitions and even culinary samples from the region (text from last year).
The Inauguration Reception and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was honored with the presence of Lic. Raquel Alfaro - Consul of Panama in Los Angeles and Lynette Valenzuela, representative from Union Bank and members of the Panama government. PIFF/LA 2016 screened feature films, shorts, documentaries, fantasy, horror, and student productions, representing the Panamanian harvest of the film industry in Panama, along with special artists Tribute, Q&A Panels, workshops for Student Programs and Festivities.
Panama International Film Festival took place on Saturday, November 5 at the South Park Center Theater and on Sunday, November 6, 2016, at the LA Live.
